If you were to stop me dead in my tracks at any point in the day and told me that our God is sovereign, in heaven, and does all that pleases him (Psalm 115:3), I would agree with you.
The problem isn’t whether I believe truths to be true, the problem is whether I remember it–especially when my plans are changed.
So this week I’ve been trying something:
3x a day, I get a text message reminder to “consider the steadfast love of the Lord” (Psalm 107:43).
When I get the text, I am reminded that through faith in Jesus, my life is no longer my own; that because I’m known and loved by God, all things are worked out for my good and for his glory; that I get to be made more and more like Jesus as I repent and believe the gospel; and I get to “get” grace a little more deeply every moment I am reminded of all that!
I’m on day 3.
So far, so good.
